 e Mississippi Municipal Clerks and Collectors Association (MMCCA) gathered in Starkville for the annual Clerk’s Master Academy and Committee Workshop Committees met and presented annual plans to a group of approximately thirty clerks  e promotion committee was authorized to use our logo for an association  ag as well as other promotional items We look forward to our association having the opportunity to participate in the Parade of Flags next June Master educational sessions included Emergency Management and Financial Administration, instruction regarding Active Shooters and Prevention of Fraud, Waste & Abuse
Because a Clerk’s role is vital to the  nancial stability and record keeping of a municipality, MMCCA has committed to show its encouragement and support by raising funds to assist clerks with attending the 2019 IIMC Conference in Birmingham, Alabama Having the opportunity to attend a national IIMC Conference with such elite workshops and speakers in our area rarely happens  erefore, we have pledged to raise funds to support the attendance of 50 Mississippi Clerks As of December, the association has raised $9,322 toward the $50,000 goal  ank you to former Mayor Douglas L Lee for his donation of the gun and everyone that participated in the ra e at MML to help with this objective
With 2018 beginning, we will prepare for the upcoming Legislative Session Legislative Committee Chairman JoAnn Robbins of Sumrall will be working with the committee to review bills being brought for legislation  ose which will a ect municipalities
will be  agged and discussed with MML for action

 e University of Mississippi’s Continuing Education Department will hold the annual Spring Conference in Flowood on March 8 - 9, 2018 Education Committee Chairman Russell Wall and Renee Moore-Cain with the University of MS are currently working on the educational agenda and con rming the host hotel  e Central Clerks and I look forward to having everyone back in our area
