Drives knuckle-boom truck to collect trash, limbs, and other debris from work sites, parks, and other City property, and transport it to the landfill; positions vehicle alongside targeted debris; operates truck- or trailer-mounted knuckle-boom arm to pick up debris and load it into the truck; secures all doors, gates, and fasteners to prevent spillage or loss of load during transport; dumps material at appropriate location. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: The purpose of this position is to ensure the wastewater and freshwater treatment plants are functioning correctly in order to provide safe, properly treated water for the City of Meridian. Duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to: testing and recording chemical balances in the water and adjusting as needed; cleaning and maintaining silos, pumps and tanks; removing sludge and other debris from tanks and lines; and performing other duties as required. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Performs field inspections on all phases of public works’ projects including construction and maintenance of streets, bridges, water systems, sewers, subdivision and commercial street improvements, landscape maintenance, encroachment activities and grading; ensures compliance and conformance with plans, safety standards, specifications, codes, permits and ordinances; and maintains records and prepares reports on projects inspected. Under the supervision of the Mayor of the Town of Terry the Deputy Clerk performs a wide variety of tasks necessary for proper financial management and operation of the water utility.
