MML promotes news, events, and conferences of interest to its members. In addition, the MML publishes a magazine, pamphlets, and technical briefs to assist its member cities and their officials in performing their duties. There also links to other publications of interest to municipal officials.

During the 2018 First Extraordinary Session, House Bill 1 was passed creating the Mississippi Infrastructure Modernization Act of 2018. This act created a Special Fund to assist municipalities in paying cost associated with repair, maintenance and/or reconstruction of roads, streets and bridges and also with repair, maintenance and/or other improvements to water and sewer infrastructure. In order for a municipality to participate in the allocation of these funds they must complete the following two forms, which are also available on the MS Office of the State Auditor's website.

 

COMPLETE THE MUNICIPAL BASE EXPENDITURE CALCULATION FORM BY NOVEMBER 1, 2019 TO BE ELIGIBLE TO RECEIVE ASSISTANCE

  • The first form entitled "Municipal Base Expenditure Calculation" should be completed using the actual column of your budget for the FYEs' 2014 through 2018.
  • Complete by November 1, 2019
  • Return completed form to the Department of Revenue to sales@dor.ms.gov

  • Complete by November 15, 2019
  • Return completed form to the Department of Revenue to sales@dor.ms.gov

A copy of the completed forms should be maintained at the municipality as well as any necessary backup information.
